Below are the answers to our most asked questions about our hockey kit. If you have a specific question that is not listed below then please contact us.

What do I need to purchase?

All members who play matches need to have:

• A white playing shirt.
• Club socks (white and maroon).

For men and boys: white shorts are worn - preferably these are the GHC branded Adidas hockey shorts (otherwise plain white - no accents, please).

For women and girls: navy skorts or shorts - preferably the navy GHC branded Adidas hockey skort or shorts (otherwise plain navy, please).

All other kit is optional.

NB – the club sometimes has Partners who benefit from advertising on team shirts. These are typically 1st teams – please check with the team Manager before purchasing if you are a new 1st team player.

What other kit might I want to purchase?

GHC branded options include hoodies, tracksuit bottoms, rain jackets, base layers, a bobble hat, and more.

The GHC branded items are really practical for cold, wet weather, and they look great.

Goalkeeper smocks with the GHC crest are also on offer.

Who supplies the kit, and do I need to purchase from them?

We are delighted to continue to work with Hawkinsport as our official kit supplier.

Hawkinsport provide all of our GHC branded kit. GHC branded kit must be purchased through Hawkinsport. Hawkinsport also offer many hockey, hockey-related and other sports clothing and equipment.

Hawkinsport currently service hundreds of schools and sports clubs, including many Hockey clubs, throughout the south of England and provide an extensive range of hockey kit and equipment. Rob Hawkins and Martin Sell are managing the Guildford relationship.

I just need a pair of socks – where can I buy that?

You can purchase GHC maroon and white socks from the clubhouse bar (upstairs in the clubhouse).

Do I need a number and how do I get one?

Adult and U14s+ League and Cup competition rules require each player to have a numbered shirt.

Numbers are assigned and managed by our kit supplier, Hawkinsport.

When ordering a playing shirt online, there is a field in the online form to input your team/age group.

Under 12s and younger do not require numbered shirts.

Do I need an away shirt?

Our away shirt colour is maroon. You may purchase one if you would like. We have sets of away team shirts for occasions when we need to change colour.

Can I buy second hand?

A few times per season we have volunteers who run a second-hand sale at the club.

These sales typically take place towards the end of September with further sales before the Christmas break and mid-way through the second half of the season.

GHC branded, other training kit and equipment are all on offer depending on what people have donated recently.

What do I do with items I no longer need or that no longer fit?

Please donate any items you no longer need to our second-hand kit sales.

Items can be handed in at the clubhouse bar.

Branded GHC kit, other training kit and equipment are all popular items for resale. Those who donate are entered into a prize draw and proceeds are put into our clubhouse development fund.

What if the kit changes and I’ve just purchased this season?

Part of our decision to choose Adidas as our kit manufacturer was that while the designs for hockey kit change slightly every 4 years or so, they remain similar enough that players can use their kit for as long as it lasts.

If Adidas change their design, e.g., the side panel moves from three maroon stripes to a solid maroon panel, your shirt is still part of the team.

Do I have to order online?

You can buy online from the Hawkinsport Guildford Hockey Club shop

Hawkinsport come to GHC 2-3 times during the season – online purchases can be delivered to the clubhouse to save you the delivery charge.

On-site sales at GHC are typically early in the season in September and towards the end of November/early December ahead of Christmas.

What is the address of Hawkinsport?

Hawkinsport are based in Bourne (near Marlow). The physical shop is open 9am to 5:30pm Monday through Saturday.
